Here’s how the Connecting the Community award works:
In addition to the award category in which they were nominated, all individual YWCA Women of Distinction nominees are eligible to win the Connecting the Community Award. As the only award category where the recipient is selected by public vote, the Connecting the Community Award helps raise awareness for YWCA programs as well as vital funds for women and children across Metro Vancouver. Each nominee chooses a YWCA cause that is important to her for a chance to donate $10,000, courtesy of Scotiabank, to the YWCA program of her choice.
