In this section, we highlight public and private sector programs and initiatives across Canada that support businesses and their employees. In some instances, details are still to be announced by government.

Whether you are self-employed, a small business owner or a large enterprise, you shouldn’t have to worry about losing your business and your employees shouldn’t have to worry about losing their jobs.

Public Sector Supports

The Government of Canada announced its COVID-19 Economic Response Plan, which provides direct financial support to Canadian businesses and workers to meet the liquidity needs of Canadian businesses and households through tax deferrals to help stabilize the economy.

The plan represents an important step forward in dealing with the economic impacts of COVID-19. The measures are part of the government’s fiscal strategy, and the Canadian Chamber will continue to work with its partners to maintain the vital connection between employers and employees and mitigate the economic impact of the pandemic.

Please note: New programs are being introduced very rapidly with operational details and clarifications being made daily. We are trying to keep this information updated but can only guarantee the information at the time of update. Please check back frequently.
