At the June 7 meeting of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Council, nine new members were welcomed to the group.
The EDI Advisory Council provides guidance and advice to SFU President Joy Johnson on the university’s EDI priorities and commitments. Discussions center around priorities including data collection, educational opportunities and inclusion for equity-deserving groups.
“The Advisory Council has been so meaningful for me,” says Johnson. “I’ve benefited tremendously from the guidance, advice and support I’ve received from the Council since its inception, and I’m excited about the diverse perspectives that our new members will bring to this work.”
