On Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30, 2021, Derek Thompson – Thlaapkiituup, of the Ditidaht First Nation on the west coast of Vancouver Island, will present this dynamic educational workshop. Opening the door to Truth and Reconciliation is an expression of wanting to understand our individual and collective roles in the redress between Indigenous peoples – First Nations, Métis and Inuit and Canadians. Telling the truth and learning to understand each other must reflect our best intentions as Canadians, and these processes must reflect our best values as human beings.
